Sunday, April 3rd we saw the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern, had afternoon tea in a neighborhood pub, and ended our day with a visit at our friend Lila's home and then out for a fabulous traditional Turkish dinner.

Monday, April 4th we began the day at the Nâzým Hikmet Culture and Art Foundation, where Moris is a Trustee and the Treasurer. We met Nilgün, who works there with Moris. We spent the rest of the day strolling down the busy streets of the Beyoğlu district, where we saw many interesting shops and food markets. We ended the day with a fabulous traditional Turkish meal at the historic Cumhuriyet Meyhanesi with a group of friends.

Tuesday, April 5th Today We visited the Galata Tower, where we found spectacular views of the city from the balcony. Then we had some turkish coffee in the Galata Tower cafe. We spent the evening at Çiçek, Moris' favorite pub in the Beyoğlu district, where Moris is well known by all the staff and patrons.

Wednesday, April 6th We departed early for our next destination on this trip: The Netherlands.
